Castledon School

Sixth Form

We are proud to be able to provide a personalised approach to learning, supporting each pupil, by providing an extensive range of pathways which are complemented by a therapeutic approach to the 6th form day. In partnership with mainstream providers, which include The Bromfords School, SEEVIC College and alternative provisions, we aim to prepare each of our young people for adulthood whether it is to progress to further education, employment, supported or independent living.

We offer 26 year 12 places each year within purpose built facilities, separate to the main grounds on Bromfords Drive, Wickford. Our dedicated team work with young adults aged from 16 to 19 years with an EHC plan, which identifies a moderate learning difficulty and additional complex needs; these include autism and communication needs.

As well as individualised academic outcomes we endeavour to offer a broad and balanced curriculum which focusses on enrichment and lifestyle, relationships, employability, independent living and transition. Our ambition is that each of our learners is able to unlock their potential for adulthood by developing their independent learning skills and self-confidence. Each of our learners will undertake a work placement and/or community work as part of their academic week.
