Sixth Form

Welcome to Castledon Sixth Form, where we take immense pride in offering students a nurturing learning environment that promotes wellbeing and independence, alongside first rate employability and work placement provision.

Wellbeing and aspirations sit at the heart of what we do in the sixth form, promoted through both the NHS’s 5 ways to wellbeing and Carol Dweck’s Growth Mindset.

Our approach combines a range of pathways, working in partnership with other educational providers like The Bromfords School, Dis4U disability Inclusion Society, USP and SEC College, Aim, and the Department for Work and Pensions.

Our goal is to prepare our young people for adulthood, whether they are moving on to further education, entering the workforce, embracing supported living, or striving for independent living.

What We Offer

Post 16 Opportunities: Each year, we welcome Year 12 students to our purpose-built facilities on Bromfords Drive, Wickford. These facilities provide an environment dedicated to their growth and development.

Support for Diverse Needs: Our dedicated team works with young adults aged 16 to 19 who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan, which identifies moderate learning difficulties and additional complex needs, including autism and communication needs.

Comprehensive Curriculum: In addition to personalised academic support, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers English, Maths, enrichment, life skills, vocational qualifications, RSHE, employability, and the critical skills to transition to adulthood.

Unlocking Potential: Our mission is to empower each student to unlock their potential for adulthood. We focus on developing their independent learning skills and self-confidence to ensure they're well-prepared for the future.

Real-World Experience: To provide a well-rounded education every student undertakes work placements and/or community involvement as a vital part of their academic week at our Aspire Cafe, Wat Tyler Country Park, or an independent placement such as greater Anglia Railway, Tiptree Cafe, and Twizzle Tops Day Nursery.

Journey to Success: At Castledon, we're committed to guiding each student toward a bright and successful future. Explore our offerings and see how we can help your young person embark on the path to unlocking their potential.
