Swimming

At Castledon School we have an indoor heated swimming pool, where we run our swimming lessons throughout the year.

At the heart of our program is a team of highly qualified swimming teachers who possess a wealth of experience. They are dedicated to providing exceptional swimming lessons for individuals of all levels and abilities. What sets our team apart is their commitment to tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring a focus on progression.

Additionally, we believe in the importance of water safety, which is why it takes centre stage in our lessons. Our students are taught how to keep safe in and around water, instilling a sense of responsibility and awareness from an early age.

Moreover, our swimming pool serves as a sensory environment, allowing us to incorporate it into our swimming program to aid in social, emotional and physical development. The benefits of being in water are numerous, including improved coordination, balance, stamina, and the ability to achieve personal goals. Furthermore, our program fosters self-confidence in individuals, helping them build the necessary skills to succeed both in and out of the water.

To further enhance our program, we encourage our support staff to obtain the STA Aquatic Helper certificate. This ensures that all our staff are well-equipped to assist with swimming lessons whenever needed, guaranteeing a safe and nurturing environment for all our students.
