Only 6% of adults with learning needs such as Autism, are currently in full-time work, but our experience with our young people tells us that most of them want to work and can work.

At Castledon, we work with our young people on the skills needed for work. As part of their learning journey, we are encouraging employers to support us, by helping to develop our young people and preparing them for employment.

WHAT WE ALWAYS DO

  • We never leave a student until both the employer and the young person feel happy and confident.

  • We work with the workplace to ensure they know how to confidently interact with our students.

  • We always match the student or the skills they need to develop to the employer.

  • If it is a specialism like mechanics - students will often have the basic qualifications to ensure they are safe to work.

  • We are on the phone and only moments away from the work placement in case you need us during the time the young adult is with you.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT

  • The young people and the employer gain something from the experience

  • Employer Quote “ I’ve got more out of working with this young person than she ever got from me” Jane - To the Moon and Back - Barleylands
