Lifeskills pathway

Our lifeskills pathway supports communication skills learners will undertake a curriculum and qualifications which develop the following: 

 

Independent living

Personal and social skills

Preparation for employment

Vocational tasters

Living life in the community

Supported employment opportunities

Functional Literacy and Maths

 

Vocational pathway – entry 3, level 1 and level 2

Castledon offers a range of vocational courses including BTEC’s and Gateway qualifications in the following areas:

 

Catering

Painting and decorating

Horticulture

Sport and leisure

Bike Mechanics

Animal care

Catering

Lifeguarding

Science and technology

ICT, Computing and Gaming

Employability for life qualifications

Art and Music

 

Academic pathway– wider curriculum (2 -3 years)

In partnership with the Bromfords School we are able to explore academic pathways for learners. Currently this would be a level 2 pathway in retail sometimes leading to level 3 qualifications for more able learners.

 

Alternative provision

Learners may also be able to undertake alternative provision as part of their week.
